My Top 10 worst Movie sequels ever

Here is another Top 10 from me, this time about the worst ever made Movie sequels. Did you ever watch a movie sequel because the first part was great and then wondered why you watched it? Here are my Top 10.

10. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010)

Wall Street gave us a searing indictment of capitalism run amok, along with a perfect avatar of the era in the form of Michael Douglas’ Gordon Gekko. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps gave us Shia LaBeouf in a convoluted plot that sees Gekko returning to the world of high finance after a long prison sentence, eager to get revenge on the men who doomed his career. Gekko’s “Greed, for lack of a better word, is good” speech came to define the entire decade. Money Never Sleeps was so generic and boring the world has forgotten it even exists barely a decade later.

9. Blues Brothers 2000 (1998)

While I loved Blues Brothers, the sequel was just not bad. Replacing John Belushi with a child? No way. At least the music in Blues Brothers 2000 is up to the standard set by the original film, but just about everything else, from the comedy to the characters fails.

8. Zoolander 2 (2016)

The first Zoolander mercilessly satirized the vapid fashion world. The only thing Zoolander 2 makes fun of is the first movie, with characters constantly mocking Ben Stiller’s Derek and Owen Wilson’s Hansel for being old and out of touch. It seems like the sequel was designed to prove that these characters still have value in a world of social media and YouTube stars. But Zoolander 2 was so disappointing it actually made a more compelling case that its heroes were washed-up after all. When Mugatu quipped to Zoolander “It doesn’t hold up, does it?” at one point, the joke resonated with a painful truth.

Ukraine will be selling NFTs to support its military

Ukraine’s Ministry for Digital Transformation has launched an NFT collection to help fund its military. The project was first announced in early March, but the NFT collection, called “ Meta History Museum of War,” is  now live. The collection is meant to be an “NFT museum” documenting the history of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The collection is currently comprised of 54 NFTs documenting the events of the first three days of the war. The illustrations were done by Ukrainian and international artists, and each one references a tweet documenting some aspect of the invasion and the world’s response to it.

“The formula of each NFT is clear and simple: each token is a real news piece from an official source and an illustration from artists, both Ukrainian and international,” Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation writes on its Meta History Museum of War website. “The NFT’s will be created in chronological order, according to the events so the true history will be saved and cherished.”

The NFT Project is the latest way Ukraine has turned to digital assets to fund its defence. The country has collected more than $100 million in cryptocurrency donations since the start of the war, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently signed a bill officially legalizing  the crypto industry.

LEGO is releasing 3 Star Wars Dioramas

LEGO seems to get right what most of the adult Star Wars series buyers want. They want something for their display, not for playing. So Lego finally is getting it right with releasing three Dioramas. Hopefully this will be just the start of a bigger series. But as of now there is no indication that more sets are coming.

1. Death Star Trash Compactor

The first step in the new collection is the 802-piece, 89,99€ Lego Star Wars Death Star Trash Compactor Diorama that recreates the tense moment when Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Princess Leia find themselves in one of the space station’s trash compactors after springing the princess from her detention cell. The diorama includes a bunch of trash (random Lego parts), a Dianoga’s head popping up, and even moving walls so you can choose a different fate for everyone than what played out in A New Hope.

2. Dagoba Jed Training Diorama

The second set, and the largest of the three is the Lego Star Wars Dagobah Jedi Training Diorama, and while it’s assembled from 1,000 pieces it’s slightly cheaper than the Trash Compactor set at 79,99€. Details include the exposed wing of an X-wing sunken into the swamp, Yoda’s hut and the Jedi Master himself, Luke practicing a hand stand, and a filthed up R2-D2 who would probably be much happier back on an Imperial Star Destroyer.

3. Death Star Trench Run Diorama

The Lego Star Wars Death Star Trench Run Diorama is the smallest and cheapest, but also easily the most dynamic and exciting of the bunch. The 665-piece set will sell for 59,99€ and features Luke’s X-wing being pursued by a trio of TIE Fighters, including Vader’s, through one of the Death Star’s trenches. The extensive detailing and greebling alone makes this one a must-have.

Stunning new Image of the Sun

Solar Orbiter’s latest images shows the full Sun in unprecedented detail. They were taken on 7 March, when the spacecraft was crossing directly between the Earth and Sun. One of the images, taken by the Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI) is the highest resolution image of the Sun’s full disc and outer atmosphere, the corona, ever taken.

Another image, taken by the Spectral Imaging of the Coronal Environment (SPICE) instrument represents the first full Sun image of its kind in 50 years, and by far the best one, taken at the Lyman-beta wavelength of ultraviolet light that is emitted by hydrogen gas.

In total, the final image contains more than 83 million pixels in a 9148 x 9112 pixel grid. For comparison, this image has a resolution that is ten times better than what a 4K TV screen can display.

Official Trailer 2: Ambulance

Over one day across the streets of L.A., three lives will change forever. In this breakneck thriller from director-producer Michael Bay, decorated veteran Will Sharp (Emmy winner Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Candyman, The Matrix Resurrections), desperate for money to cover his wife’s medical bills, asks for help from the one person he knows he shouldn’t—his adoptive brother Danny (Oscar® nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, Zodiac, Spider-Man: Far From Home). A charismatic career criminal, Danny instead offers him a score: the biggest bank heist in Los Angeles history: $32 million. With his wife’s survival on the line, Will can’t say no. But when their getaway goes spectacularly wrong, the desperate brothers hijack an ambulance with a wounded cop clinging to life and ace EMT Cam Thompson (Eiza González, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Baby Driver) onboard. In a high-speed pursuit that never stops, Will and Danny must evade a massive, city-wide law enforcement response, keep their hostages alive, and somehow try not to kill each other, all while executing the most insane escape L.A. has ever seen. Ambulance is produced by Michael Bay, p.g.a., Bradley J. Fischer, p.g.a. (Zodiac, Shutter Island) for New Republic Pictures, James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, 2022’s Scream) and William Sherak (Ready or Not, 2022’s Scream) for Project X, and Oscar® nominee Ian Bryce (Transformers franchise, Saving Private Ryan).

My Top 10 Movie Franchises

Here is a list of my Top10 Movie Franchises. Missing something or disagree? Sound off in the Comments..

10. Jurassic Park

Sine the first Movie came out back in the 90s the World was in Dino Fever. And with the start of the Jurassic World Movies it got only bigger.

9. Die Hard

With 5 out Movies since 1988 one of the smaller Franchises, but it is really hard to not like the Cop who always saves the day. Not sure if there is more to come in this Franchise since A Good Day to Die Hard but I was up for it.

8. X-Men

The X Men Franchise including Deadpool became a really big Hit, with Spinoffs on Wolverine and even Prequels it was one of my favourite Movie Franchises to watch in Cinema. With now being taken into the Marvel Cinematic Universe we will see where the journey goes.

7. Batman

Arguably the biggest character to make the transition from comic book to the Movie screen, it’s fair to say the Batman franchise has had its ups and downs over the years. After Batman had been flapping around without any real sense of direction, Christopher Nolan took the job for The Dark Knight Trilogy and was a huge success, with Christian Bale steadying the ship as the Caped Crusader. But a hero is only as good as his villains, and Batman’s iconic adversaries such as the Joker, Penguin and Bane just enhance the franchise’s appeal. It’s just a shame Ben Affleck’s Batman crashed and burned.
